International students who participate in one of our more than 80 English-taught Master's programs follow courses and carry out research at the highest possible level. Specific Research Opportunities
In 2011, Utrecht University again confirmed its reputation as a leading research university. In the Shanghai ranking of the world’s best universities, Utrecht was ranked 48th in the world, 12th in Europe and 1st in the Netherlands. In the Times Higher Education ranking the positions are respectively 68, 18 and 1. The University also obtained an above-average number of research subsidies for individual researchers according to the CHE clustering, and the departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Psychology research programs are considered to be among the best in Europe. In order to preserve the high quality of its research, the University invested in talent and established new collaborative links, both nationally and internationally. In addition, the University developed policy designed to increase focus in its research.
Utrecht University incorporates various thematic multi-disciplinary collaborations conducting excellent research.
