Some of these courses are specifically designed for visiting students with no prior knowledge of Finnish. The aim of beginners’ courses (5 ECTS) is to offer a basic knowledge of Finnish in order to help the students to cope with some everyday situations. Courses are arranged during both academic terms. Information on registration procedures and other details is available from the Department of Finnish, Finno-Ugrian and Scandinavian Studies, which is responsible for the Finnish language teaching for all the international students of the University of Helsinki.
