Cost of Living
An estimated cost of more comfortable living per month for a student in Sweden could be:
- Food SEK 2,300
- (Accommodation SEK 3,000) is included in the program fee.
- Course literature SEK 1,000
- Transportation approx. SEK 500
- Other: Clothing, telephone, leisure etc SEK 1,500

Health Insurance
Students coming through an agreement with Lund University are insured by the Swedish State’s Insurance for Foreign Students in Sweden.
Visa and Residence Permit
Students from North America need a visa. Currently, financial proof of at least SEK 7 300/month is required from the Swedish Migration Board and should probably be viewed as a minimum. For more information: http://www.lu.se/lund-university/exchange-students/residence-permits

Student ID-Cards
As member of a Student union a student will get discount for travel in Sweden and in certain shops and eating establishments in Lund
Computer Access and Email account
Students will get computer access through StiL (Student in Lund), and get an e-mailaccount and a catalogue. There are computers available at the International Desk and at all departments (and the public library).
Libraries
The main university library is open 9-19 on weekdays and 10-17 on Saturdays. There are over 20 specialized libraries across the university.
Student Services
International desk at the International Office is there to assist international students at the university and in Lund. There are also international coordinators and advisors at all departments and at the central International Office.
Counselling Services
Student Health Service has doctors, nurses, psychologists and counselors aiming at preventing and assisting with student welfare issues. All students have access to the same medical care as the Swedish citizens. There is also an office servicing students with disabilities.
Sports and Recreational Facilities
Lund offers an abundance of student organisations and sport facilities.
